Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her guidance and motivation to enhancing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions throughout an engagement along with the agency's senior administrators at a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric final exams.
With the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% on the registered pupils within the education and learning sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the financial investment government is generating during the life of poor and vulnerable young children is yielding a beneficial effects in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
